Topic: Desensitisation and countercondition for noise sensitivities
Sensitivity to sound is a remarkably common problem in our canine patients with an estimated 49% of dogs showing some fears of fireworks alone. Whilst many owners worry about the anxiety sound sensitivity causes their dog, over 40% currently don’t do anything to help them cope with the situation. Unless these dogs are given support their fears will only get progressively worse. This interactive CPD event for vet nurses and nursing students aims to give you the tools to do more to help these owners prepare for festivities throughout the year, as well as provide longer term solutions to their pets including desensitisation and counterconditioning. Through a series of lectures and workshops you can tailor the advice to work practically for your individual practice and clients making a real difference to their pets.
