As a mixed practice nestled in rural South Down, it’s essential you understand the way of life of our pet owners and farmers. We’ll give you excellent backup and support along the way to achieve this. Our team cohesion is strong and includes locals who know the area and its people. We’re passionate about our community, and we all work together to ensure we provide not just a top service, but one catered specifically to our neighbours and clients. The role is a large animal bias of 90% and 10% small animal work.
The role sees you work a 1 in 4 OOH rota on the weekends, with a small radius of cover. Monday to Friday you’ll work a 9am-6pm week.
An attractive salary is on offer with a view to becoming part of the practice management team in the future.

Large Animal Vet opportunity at Parklands Vets

Parklands have an opening in their farm team, we are a large and friendly team with a young bias, Covid permitting we enjoy CPD events together with team building activities, barbeques, festive dinners and nights out! Anyone requiring a mentor/clinical coach (vet GDP) will have one named for them. We strive for the best patient and animal care with a huge amount of knowledge in our broad-based team including Farm, Equine, SA, Poultry and Pig vets. Typical day is 9 to 5.30 and weekday rota would include one weeknight on call, either first or second, and one weekend first or second in 4 with a set half day off in week after weekend on call. We have a well-equipped practice where good clinical examination is the cornerstone of animal care but further investigation using Labs etc is encouraged to optimise herd/flock health. Professional and personal development is important to us and encouraged at the individual’s pace, CPD allowance is 5 days a year planned with your mentor. New grads have access to the new graduate program and can shadow a more senior vet for as long as needed. Certificate study encouraged when appropriate to start. Salaries easily in line with SPVS survey results. We also supply vehicle, kit, smart phone with client locations loaded and accomodation. At interview we always recommend speaking to the other vets to get an idea of what they feel Parklands is like.

Your focus will be to provide an exceptional service to our clients and the best care possible to their pets – providing a link between clients and the clinical team.
Your ability to build strong relationships with our clients, their pets and the practice team will be critical to your success.
You will greet each client and offer support, guidance and expertise, managing payments and future bookings confidently.
Some experience of veterinary PMS packages and MS Office, along with a strong history of customer service roles either within or outside of the veterinary industry would be welcomed, but full training will be given..
This is a part time role of 20plus hours per week with the potential of becoming a full-time role in the near future.. Salary in line with experience.

We have a vacancy for a full time or part time veterinary surgeon in our friendly, long established independent practice.
We require a good team player with excellent communication skills who would be keen to grow within our supportive 7 vet practice in a beautiful coastal area of Co. Antrim.
If desired, within our team, there is the opportunity for you to develop an interest in small animal or large animal work or to carry out an equal mix of both.
You would have clinical freedom with excellent support through our mentoring programme in a friendly, happy working environment.
We are well equipped, with competent and helpful support staff and are a VN training centre. One of our ANA’s recently won the Agria award for nursing auxillary of the year in N Ireland
We’re located a short distance from Belfast and the Antrim coast so there are a wide variety of leisure activities available. We are very convenient to 2 airports and 2 ferry ports.
4 sites, but you would be based mainly in one location.
Excellent variety of work, 50% small and 50% large animal ( dairy, beef, sheep and horses).
Out of hours rota is 1 in 6, with quiet nights on the whole. Your on call could be on a set night each week, allowing you a more favourable work life balance.
Half day on the Friday after your weekend on call and through the week you have 2 hours off before your night on and a late start the morning after.
Accommodation and a vehicle or car allowance are provided.
CPD is encouraged and fully funded.
Competitive salary with a performance related bonus and workplace pension.

Annual holiday – 6 weeks.

The Role
Here at Cedar Grove Veterinary Clinic, we are looking for a dedicated and professional Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. You will divide your days between consulting sessions and sessions which involve surgical procedures and diagnostic investigations.
The rota will involve working 4 days per week with and 1-half weekend in 6 and 1 full weekend in 6. Our out-of-hours is managed by Vets Now.
About Us
Cedar Grove is a progressive Small Animal RCVS Accredited Hospital with a significant and growing referral caseload. We have excellent surgical, medical, and diagnostic facilities to include in house MRI, CT, Ultrasound and X-ray facilities. Cedar Grove is situated in affluent South Belfast, a cosmopolitan, growing city with much to offer both socially and for outdoor enthusiasts.
Our team at Cedar Grove is led by a team of 10 Veterinary Surgeons, 14 Registered Veterinary Nurses, Animal Nursing Assistants and 12 Support Staff. We have a range of Vets with additional qualifications and certificates and several working towards certificates. Our greatest resource is our staff – their enthusiasm, experience, and ability to work together as a team helps us provide the highest standards of care.

Registered Veterinary Nurse required at Dogs Trust Ballymena

Are you an RVN who is passionate about animal welfare, loves dogs and is looking for an excellent work life balance?
We are looking for an RVN for 20 hours per week at our Rehoming Centre in Ballymena. The salary is £13,750 per year (full time equivalent £27,500 per year) and this is a fixed term maternity cover contract until end of August 2023.
In this key role, you will work closely with the rehoming centre team to help provide excellent veterinary care and welfare to our dogs. You will be involved with routine veterinary care, maintaining clinical protocols, assisting with the transfer of dogs to/from the local veterinary surgery and providing post-surgery care.
To be successful in this role, you will be an RVN with an appreciation of handling dogs in accordance with Dogs Trust guidelines, using positive reinforcement techniques. Experience of working in a rehoming/charity establishment would be desirable, but a full induction is provided. You will be able to show empathy and understanding towards both dogs and people and be committed to delivering the highest standards of patient care and customer service. You will also need a full, clean UK manual driving licence. The role benefits from a Monday to Friday working schedule, with no out of hours or weekend commitment.
Dogs Trust actively encourage professional development, with opportunities to work alongside our in-house behavioural teams, and a generous CPD allowance (including access to external opportunities). Additionally, RCVS fees for Vet Nurses are paid.

Veterinary Surgeon required at Glenburn Veterinary Surgeons

Glenburn is constantly evolving to create roles which leads to happier vets. We are proud of our staff retention figures and find ourselves hiring on this occasion due to retirement of one of our longstanding team.
Significant steps have been taken to improve the work-life balance of our vets by recently becoming a small animal only practice using VetsNow for OOH cover. We have vets working part time and others with family friendly, finishing times.
An experienced and enthusiastic team of 7 vets, 4 RVNs, 2 SVNs and 11 support team members helps create the perfect position for those wishing to broaden their small animal knowledge or pursue a certificate which would be funded by the practice. We have one certificate holder in Surgery and a second currently studying for their Internal Medicine qualification, both eager to mentor new colleagues.
The practice continually strives to keep up to date with methods and equipment. The purchase of an IMV GE Versana ultrasound and cardiac scanning table this year along with further investment into our orthopaedic kit constantly improves the service we provide including both CCWOs and MMPs. We have all the usual toys across our three branches in Glengormley, Lisburn and Crumlin as well as endoscopy and suction.
Discussions regarding flexibility are welcome, our full-time vets work a 5 day week with 1 in 5 nights on call during the week until 10pm, plus 1 in 6 weekends (9-6pm Sat, 9-1pm Sunday). There is a ½ day on 4/6 weeks and the Thursday off prior to your weekend on. VetsNow provide our OOH from 10pm on weekdays and close of business on weekends.
Salary up to £55,000 depending on experience, plus up to £5000 relocation allowance and up to £3000 welcome bonus. CPD allowance of £1200pa.
