Due to maternity leave, we currently have two veterinary positions available here at Glenburn Vets (Co. Antrim). At the moment, we are managing with locum cover but would much rather see this expense invested in our own staff. We understand the need for flexibility and would like to discuss what you’re looking for in a job rather than focus entirely on what we need from you.
- Prefer part time to full time work?
- Have preferences regarding OOH rotas and weekend work?
- Want to have a permanent or temporary contract?
- Want to focus entirely on small animal or consider mixed practice?
- Need early finishes to facilitate childcare arrangements?
We are an IVC owned practice since Dec 2017. We don’t think that’s changed us much but if you’d like to ask our staff, please do! Glenburn has an 80% small animal, 20% large animal split. We are based across 3 branches: Crumlin, Lisburn and Glengormley with a team of receptionists in each, 6 vets & 5 nursing staff total. We have all the usual toys: xray, endoscopy, ultrasound, biochemistry and haematology. Our case range varies significantly and we take pride in working them up to the best of our abilities. There is massive scope to develop your interests further, be that orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology…..the list goes on!
We can’t guarantee that there won’t be stressful days or the odd difficult client but we do believe that we offer an extremely supportive and friendly environment in which to grow. We have a generous CPD budget (£1000/year) and are offering full time salaries ranging from £30,000 for a new graduate to £45,000 for an experienced, mixed practitioner who contributes to the OOH rota (plus mileage expenses).
