Nominations for Council
Serving on AVSPNI Council allows you to become more involved in important decisons affecting vets in the province, from helping to shape the CPD programme, through to representation of the Association and the profession in discussions with DARD on matters of animal health, welfare and policy.  Council memebrs for 2010 were approved at the AGM (6th January), but if you would be interested in standing for Council in future years, give one of the current Council members a call to hear more about it.  Nomination forms are avaiiable to download from the beginning of December onwards.

The Northern Ireland Audit Office report on the Control of Bovine TB in Northern Ireland

This long awaited report was published on 18th March 2009 and was widely reported in the local and farming print and broadcast media.
It is ostensibly a review of DARD's policy and implementation, but as PVPs carry out a large proprtion of testing, they also come under scrutiny.
AVSPNI would welcome practitioners comments on the content and tone of the report, and on its subsequent coverage in the media.
If you would like an AVSPNI officer to conatct you to discuss yout views more fully, please include a phone number.
